As I sit down to write the first post for this blog, it feels a little surreal. This seems like the right place to share a bit about where this journey began.

Have you ever noticed how the most powerful stories often grow from the places in life that leave the deepest impressions?

That's exactly what happened to me.

While the characters and events of Shattered Reflections: Behind the Smile are fictional, the emotional core of the story was inspired by very real experiences and emotions. It took me nearly three years to work through those feelings and shape them into a story that felt honest, meaningful, and true to what I wanted to say.

So let me introduce myself. I’m Nova — a small-town mom of three with a big dream and a deep love for storytelling.

This book is incredibly personal to me. At first, it began as a way to work through personal pain — a way to find my own voice that I had buried for far too long. But as the story evolved, it became something more… much more.

It became a story about connection — about reminding people they are not alone.

My hope is that this story becomes a place where readers can feel seen and understood — a place to connect not only through the difficult things in life that many of us experience, but through the deeper themes of resilience, friendship, and the incredible strength people can discover during their most challenging moments.

And as I continued shaping this story, I realized something important.

To express the emotions and the journey I wanted to share, I didn’t want to create just a book.

I wanted to create an experience.

Alongside this first novel, Shattered Reflections: Behind the Smile, is music written from the same emotional journey that lives within the pages. The soundtrack was created as a way for listeners to feel the story “between the lines.” Each track reflects key emotional moments from the story, capturing the characters’ struggles, growth, and turning points through sound.

In many ways, the music becomes an extension of the story — while also standing on its own as something listeners can connect with even beyond the pages of the book.
